Effortless Device Insight is a unique big data analytics engine that provides mobile operators with unique insight into their subscribers’ devices and behaviors. Using prescriptive analytics users with faulty devices can be identified targeted with personal and customized upgrade offers before they even start to look around for alternatives.

Every day, nearly 10% of all smartphone users rely on devices with batteries barely last throughout the day, with storage capacity is so low that they need to delete files in order to take a video, or are basically malfunctioning due to age.

Effortless Device Insight uses machine learning to identify faulty devices based on information gathered from users' devices.

The device data is fed into Device Insights machine learning platform where it is analyzed and also enhanced by community and third party data sources. The Device Insights predictions can be used to both enhance and drive customer self-service (as shown in Effortless Device Self-service) as well as provide vital input into how a mobile operator can target subscribers with more relevant marketing offers. 

Information from Effortless Device Insight can easily be imported into CRM and used to enhance marketing and sales activities. Effortless Device Insights is also an integral part of the Effortless Device Care platform, providing device insight to enhance self-service and predicatively alert users of potential issues with their devices.

With Device Insights, user engagement is dramatically increased as messages and communication timing is optimized to deliver truly relevant messages to the users. Currently we see 3x the engagement level (CTR) on notifications based on Device Insights when compared to standard notifications. The proprietary Device Insights machine learning is continuously trained using feedback from all automated and manual engagements to optimize the big data algorithms.

Device Insights can also be used to predict users’ propensity to react to marketing offers, in effect boosting sales efforts. In a recent Black Friday campaign, a Nordic operator identified a micro-segmentation using Device Insights and experienced a 3.7x increase in sales conversion for the target segment versus the peer group. The segment was based on eBuilders Device Insights Upscore - a scoring based on device experience across battery, performance, usage, age, likely-next-device and more.

ta that drives Device Insights is collected using a SDK which can be implemented into any host app (such as an operators existing subscription service app). The SDK periodically takes a snapshot of the device on which the host app is installed and uploads the data onto the Device Insights machine learning platform. Data collection is invisible to the user, event capture runs for less than 2 seconds per instance and data transfer is less than 2 MB per month.
