A Cloud Process contains the following essential elements:
1. Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Process Rules (BPR) — handle the logic of the business process. The Cloud Process executes the business process according to its rules, and it contains decision logic to automatically handle all the decision points. This logic steers the role holders’ physical activities, including human interactions. And the process logic integrates the background information and the business transactions. eBuilder Cloud Processes support "dynamic rules" with a rule engine, which, for example, can assign increasing volumes to the role holder (e.g. a logistics firm) that performs best when compared to the requirements and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) specified in the process. BPM and BPR enable Cloud Processes to handle dynamic changes necessitated by real time events in the network.
2. Cloud Process Tools for End-User Participants — including Business Process Management (BPM), Business Intelligence (BI), Business Activity Management (BAM), etc. This includes tools that analyze and present the current operational status for those responsible for the operational, tactical, and strategic work assignments and operations. For example, BI tools for strategic analysis of a product’s business-critical statistics enable decisions about addressing new markets, research, and development, etc. BPM tools can model, set rules, and configure business processes (see 3. above). |
3. Master Data Management — managing (collecting, aggregating, matching, quality-assuring, persisting, etc.) the relevant background information that is needed in the real time operation and whose content steers the logic of the business process. Master data consists of, for example, personal profiles, chart of accounts, tax and legal regulations, and electronic agreements/contracts between business partners. Take the case of a role that has different attest permissions in different processes. This is configured in the master data, which is available to all the collaborating processes so the correct permissions are granted in each process. Master data management across the value network of collaborating enterprises/organizations brings both control and business dexterity to top management. Master data management is essential for the corporate or organizational governance you require. |
4. Business Process Network (BPN) — what Gartner defines as a “…collaborative multienterprise process integration among members of B2B communities.” This integration enables the different roles in the process to exchange business-critical transactional information electronically in real time. This exchange of real time information supports the automatic execution of the relevant business processes, which enables the BPN to function continuously. eBuilder’s Cloud Processes are unique in providing a vast array of already existing integrations, which significantly speeds implementation. An example is the eBuilder´s Travel and Expense Management Cloud Process which connects travel agencies, hotel booking agencies, airline booking systems, credit card companies, etc., and your company’s financial systems. What’s more, the process uses the personal preference profiles for each traveler while managing bookings, charges, and payments.

5. Cloud Process Improvement Service — delivers new functionality and maintenance releases that enhance and maintain the business logic, integrations, and technology. Functional enhancements and required operative maintenance improve the competitiveness of the process and are released quarterly or more frequently.
6. Third Party Best-of-Breed Cloud Brokering — enables you to connect and make use of third party products and resources and even other services.
7. Information Monitoring and Management — services that monitor the information content used in the process to ensure the correctness of incoming data and its format. These services also ensure that all role holders in the electronic business process perform their "information tasks" at an acceptable level of quality and relevance — this includes information about non-events, for example, issuing alerts and reporting daily reports that have not been submitted. Monitoring the entropy of information (a measure of the quality of the information) is decisive for the quality of the entire business process. |
8. Performance Management — services that monitor the technical functions to ensure that the networks of computers, telecommunications, databases, integrations, etc. all function correctly. These services also ensure that errors are logged and reported to technical and operative support.
9. Cloud Process Hosting, Support, and Operations Management — provide secure and scalable hosting in the Cloud. Customers can choose the level of service (SLA) they require, the extent of support they need, and the specific services they want (as listed above). |
10. Cloud Process Customization — provides customized Cloud Processes for specific customer requirements and/or for customer-specific integrations. This ability to custom build Cloud Processes is an essential element in a full-bodied Cloud Process offering.
Experience has taught us that these elements maximize your Value Network productivity. Moreover, our Cloud Processes Accelerator Platform benefits from years of rigorous quality assurance and control. Rugged security is built into them to protect your data, your processing, and the connections in your Value Network. Because we know that “one size does not fit all,” eBuilder also delivers different degrees of integration/customization in its Cloud Processes.
